Dear Jesus, 

Faith comes from You and returns to You in every prayer prayed. Prayer is not me talking to myself about what I hope might happen, or what I fear may happen. Faith is pouring my heart out to You in total confidence that You are actively listening; you are actively at work. 

In this faith in which I stand, (Romans 5:2) I know You are at work because of all You have already done. You are the Only One worthy of all my trust. I will not hope in another or worry my own heart. 

You, my Jesus, are the God Who answers by fire! (1 Kings 18:24) I am warmed by the very thought of You.
