Out of the Depths

“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” Proverbs 24:10 (NIV)

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4 (ASV)

Dear God, Almighty,

Everything You do or allow is for Your good purpose. We know this. And when we see the evil around the world, we fall on our knees before You. We know You are God and You are good. No good thing do you withhold from those You walk with (Psalm 84:11). We humble ourselves before You as we intercede for those in harm’s way around the world. We earnestly beseech You, God of all mercy and grace.

Jesus, we take great comfort in Your intersession on our behalf. You came down into this messy and upside-down world because of the very things we are seeing, hearing about, and experiencing. We know that nothing can separate us from Your love (Rms. 8:31-39). We know we are never alone and never forsaken—ever. Lord, we remember those in need at this moment, around the world, as they face peril of unthinkable things and wickedness personified.

You are the Lord. We are Yours. We bow before Your superior wisdom and trust in Your loving kindness and mercy. May You be glorified in this present darkness. May Your saints entrust themselves to You, the One Who secures their path. We stand with them in spirit and truth and see the Majesty of our God and our King. We look up to You and fear not for You are with us.

In Jesus Name Forever
