Handwritten

“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it is, the Word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13

“See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!” Galatians 6:11 (NIV)

“I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:17-18 (NIV)

Dear Supreme Author,

Through Your Spirit, You breathed Your Word into the minds of mortals. You guided the pen on their pages that we might know Your very mind. Even the heavens are a colossal billboard message! “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech…their voice goes out into all the earth.” (Psalm 19:1-4) How enormous is Your handwriting writ large and yet small enough to fit human understanding. We are in awe of how You use creation or the smallest phrase from Your Word to change a heart, an eternal destination, and renew our minds by working in what we think, do and speak.

How wonderful! How marvelous! How glorious! Stir up Your Spirit in us through Your Word. May it not return void but accomplish all You desire to do in us (Is. 55:11). Let the transformation be writ large. Let us bear the distinguishing mark written by Your nail pierced hand. Let this sad world read in us that You redeem and transform lost people. This is how You write!

In Jesus Name Forever
