“My tears have been my food day and night,
While people say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’
These things I remember as I pour out my soul:
How I used to go to the house of God with shouts of joy and praise…
Why, my soul, are you downcast…put your hope in God,
For I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
My soul is downcast within me; therefore, I will remember You…
By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me…
My foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him,My Savior and my God.” Psalm 42 (NIV)
Dear Father, Who Dries Our Tears, Many things are happening all around the world that are breaking our hearts. Like David, we have sorrow over the things we wish we had not done. We have sorrow over the things we wish others had not done. We would despair if not for You and Your Word. We will take the remedy of this psalm and embrace it. We will sing praise to You, our Worthy One. We will converse with You in the night as You stand watch over us. We will remember all Your benefits, too numerous to count. We will remember Your Son Who ransomed our souls. Taunts and events are opportunities to look to You, Who hold our future and are our Future! We will praise You now in anticipation of the plan You have authored and will finish! We look to You in hope, for Your love will be poured out on us. Nothing tastes as sweet as Your love mingled with the salty tears that pass away. You will wipe away each one. We love you.
In Jesus Name Forever
