The Gambler

“They pierce My hands and My feet…They divide My clothes among them and cast lots for My garment.” Psalm 22:16,18 (NIV)

“The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.” Proverbs 16:33 (NIV)

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself; according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved.”

Ephesians 1:5,6 (KJV)

Dear Father,

To be accepted and beloved is what our heart’s have desired since childhood. Perhaps early memories include times we “cashed in” and “won the jack pot” because we felt known and loved. Or our memories may be of rejection because we lost in the spin of life’s “wheel of fortune”.

Father, thank you for causing the lot of salvation to fall into our lap. Thank you that all we need do is receive it by faith and the Grand Prize of Eternal Life, Jesus, is ours for the living. No risk! No failures! No Maybes!

What was once a game of chance, a sort of gambling for a few became the Gift of a lifetime for the many—us! You made our acceptance possible! We are the Beloved! You have said so. You have made it so. We are the Winners! You are the Prize! Show us how to spend our “ winnings”!

In Jesus Name Forever
