It Beats for Thee

“Sennacherib king of Assyria… sent… this message for Hezekiah king of Judah and for all the people:

‘This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: On what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege? When Hezekiah says, ‘The Lord our God will save us from the hand of the king of Assyria,’ he is misleading you, to let you die of hunger and thirst…

Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? … Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand?’

Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah.” 2 Chronicles 32:1-16 (NIV)

Dear Shock and Awe God,

We bow before You, the One True God. You speak and It is Created! You act, and It Is Finished! We come now to Your throne room with all the privileges that come from being Your children!

We hear the same old deception spoken in a garden long ago; that You are not enough are unable or don’t care for us. It was the same kind of lie told to newly delivered Israelites— that they would die in the Red Sea or in the wilderness. It is the same lie spoken now around the world; that we need something else, someone else to deliver us.

Almighty God, there is no hand greater than Yours, pierced for our sin. There is no evil power that can make a move without Your permission! There is no one who can stop the plans You have set in motion to defeat sin, death and hell!! What we see now, is exactly what You have and will defeat!

We choose to remember all You have done for us in history and in our personal lives! We place determined faith in You. We ask for opportunities to share the One truth that transforms the human heart: You so loved the world You gave Your Only Son; that whoever believes in Him may not die but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Thank you for this act of love that alters the world by changing the human heart wherever it beats. Let ours beat for Thee.

In Jesus Name Forever
