White as Snow

“‘Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’” Isaiah 1:18 (NIV)

Dear Savior God,

How happy we are when a stain is successfully removed from a treasured article of clothing. But there’s one stain no earthly agent can remove or even lighten. No cleansing agent can boast the ability to remove the stain of guilt from our heart, mind and conscience where cleansing is needed most.  We are ruined and nothing can cover that up. Even if we can hide behind good works and plastic smiles we still know what lies beneath. We come to an end of futile methods and cry to You in our helpless state. Our voice is the music You have longed to hear.

You come, stripped down with towel tied ‘round Your waist, and kneel before each one. You wash away the filth of self and world from our inner most being as only Your righteous shed blood can. You cleanse our past and forgive every present failure. We who were stained are made new. May we live in the good of this now and every day, loving the One Who cleansed our soul. Oh, happy, happy day! All my sin is washed away. I owe it all to You.

In Jesus Name Forever
