Box Life

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The Life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more…having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!” Romans 5:9,10 (NIV)

Dear God of Life,

Christmas is over for this year. Time to think about taking down the tree, tidying up the house, and making a good-faith effort to vacuum up the glitter that will probably remain embedded forever, everywhere! But one thing we won’t be boxing away with the Nativity set and holiday bobbles; we won’t be boxing up You. You are not a something in our lives that we pull out at holiday times, or emergencies, or times when we are “feeling spiritual.”

You are the Treasure in these “boxes” with Whom we do this earthly life. We aren’t shelved in Your attic but placed out in the world to be salt and light. You don’t take us out once or twice a year to make sure we haven’t gotten moldy or stiff from lack of use. You were pleased to save us and now pleased to live Your Life in and with us on display, every day. We are “boxes” with see-through sides, and open lids. Thank you for living in our “box.” You know, it’s not crowed in here. In fact, You have enlarged the space we occupy and it’s still cozy. Jesus, be pleased to put in or take out of these “boxes” whatever You know is best. We trust that what You have placed inside will always be enough. And, Yours is the glitter that never needs a vacuum.

In Jesus Name Forever

81 days until Spring
