The Vine and His Branch

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the Vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, He it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me he is thrown away like a branch and withers.”

John 15:4-6. (ESV)

Dear Vine,

You give all for Your branches. You honor each branch by hanging on it fruit it had no power to bring forth. We, the branches on Your vine, only  rested in Your labor over us.  How blessed to be a branch who drinks in Vine-Life.

If it is a humble lot in life to be Your branch then we choose it eagerly. Better to be Your branch than to belong to no one but ourself. We await the harvest you provide on us, in us; You Who love us best. We long to see your pleasure when we are covered in Your glory! Oh Jesus, we live to be Your branch.

In Jesus Name Forever
