“Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father Who gives you the True Bread from heaven. For the Bread of God is the Bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’
‘Sir,’ they said, ‘always give us this bread.’
Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.’”
John 6:32-36 (NIV)
Dear Bread of Heaven,
You told us Who You are: The Great I Am, The Bread of Life, The One sent by the Father, and these are but three of Your many Names. Give us understanding of Who You are in bite size pieces so we may take You in more fully and by the nourishment received, commit to actively believe all You say. Your Word is our daily Bread.
How many times we lose strength from lack of the Bread You offer. We look for bread in other places and find junk food filled with everything but true life. Forgive us.
Jesus, You were the Bread broken for our sin. You are the Bread now living in us! You are the Bread providing all our needs from Your Bounty of Love. You are the Bread of peace and contentment.
We weary of bread with no life, no nourishment for soul, body or mind. We want You alone. We believe You. Let our mind have a continual feast dining on True Bread. Renew us by Your truth, set before us each day as we come to You. Let our soul be satisfied at last and always by the Bread within reach— You.
In Jesus Name Forever
