LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth! You have set Your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants You have established a stronghold against Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of Your hands; You put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:1-9 (NIV)
Dear Creator, Artist Extraordinaire,
So much intentional beauty You have created by the word of Your mouth. You speak. It happens. All this magnificence is for our joy and pleasure. As we gaze in amazement, we should cry out, “Author! Author!” We should see You in Your splendor and majesty. Yet, there is more. You have placed in us the Divine Image, the Spirit of the Living God! Truly, all the days or our life, from beginning to end, are the bookends of Your Love and Mercy, with every good thing under heaven in between.
Is it any wonder that angels gaze in reverence, seeing the Love You pour out on a rejecting world? Jesus, You blow us away! We are not hanging by a thread when life seems to be unraveling. If the moon stays where it belongs then so do we. It is You Who holds all things together! (Col. 1:17) We cannot stray from the orbit You placed us in. You are our Orbit!!!! Your gravitational pull of love is irresistible!
Let this tired, fallen world see Your children navigating life in our right minds, fixed in faith, radiating Your will. We desire to outdo mere planets and stars in glorifying You, that the world may know You as the Saving God!
In Jesus Name Forever
