“A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.’ For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 40:3-5 (NIV)
We live in the wilderness that is the world, but we are not alone. In this rough terrain of life, You create a garden paradise for our souls right where we are. You are our place of Refuge and Delight. There is no mountain high or valley low that cannot be traversed by Your significant, all-sufficient grace. In the impersonal world where we are only a number, You call us by our own name. Your voice centers us, comforts us and gives us renewable hope. You are the exit off our endless round-about of busyness. Great and ever great is Your love for us. Let the pathway between us be short and well worn.
Raise a song of praise from the depths of our being. Make these tired hearts thrill. You are the Way and the Sanity in a wilderness world. Let the lost see us found living life gloriously, freely, fearlessly, faithfully.! Why not? We know the Navigator!
